Vision - Woodrow Foster - 'Building Success'
Uploaded on Feb 11, 2016
Have you ever wondered what it takes to build a successful Company? Have you sat and thought of HOW, WHY, WHAT & WHO made that Company a success? What does it take to grow and sustain a successful business; and the sacrifices made in the process? Would YOU be willing to make the necessary sacrifices - giving up the good times and the fun; putting in the long hours; working day and night; sleeping, eating and breathing that Company day-in, day-out; year after year?
Mr. Woodrow (Woody) Foster (son of the late Mr. David Foster) is one such an individual who has lived just that life, working from the tender age of eleven (11) alongside his father and siblings, helping to build the family business of ‘Fosters Food Fair’. Woody shares a big part of his life with Ellio Solomon: from the ground up he had no time for play, because building a successful Company meant consistency, never standing idol, just get-up and go, take the good with the bad, giving the 110% that was expected of him. NO kid glove treatment, Woody was expected to work as hard or more, than any other employee.
Woody gives us an inspiring insight into what now sits the largest Group of Companies in the Cayman Islands and how much dedication, sacrifice and tenacity it takes to get there. For Companies such as Fosters do not spring up overnight. It takes, years and years of labor, quick action, robust energy and endurance to succeed. And when you get knocked down you get up again.
Woody Foster and the Foster Group of Companies is an inspiration to us all, giving years of Service to the Cayman Islands and it’s people. Should we wish to complain on how hard it is to succeed in something, we only have to look to Woody as a testament of what we can achieve if we put our nose to the grinding stone and walk …just keep walking.
