As a young boy growing up in the district of Bodden Town Roy's life was not easy, from humble beginning and of colored ancestry Roy did not have it easy, but with a mother who believed in her son and instilled in him 'that education was the road he should strive to be on' she encouraged Roy to read and focus on his studies. Others watching the studious young Roy also saw his potentional for greatness, they constantly molded him with words of encouragement; and under their watchful eye Roy blossomed and grow to become an extraordinary citizens. A man who would rise above poverty, rise above mediocrity, who would teach the young and shelter the old, who would cross the barrier of white and black, who would strive to maintain excellence in all that he did. A man with the strength to walk alone.
