Vision - Cayman Icon passes: In Memory of Julia Almeria Hydes "Final Words"
Uploaded on Dec 1, 2015
The passing of an Icon – Ms. Julia Almeria Hydes, ‘Aunt Julia’ Cayman’s oldest centurion passes away quietly at home in West Bay just short of her 107th Birthday.
Days before her 106th Birthday, Vision3E requested an interview with Cayman’s oldest centurion Ms. Julia Hydes, known to many, simply as Aunt Julia.
With the permission of her family, the Vision team set out to her home in West Bay, along with Austin Harris, Vision’s host of ‘Cayman Chronicles’ to capture the spirit of this truly remarkable woman.
What we walked away with changed our lives forever. For we had touched upon something we could only describe as divine. For a human being to have the will to live daily it takes courage, with Aunt Julia it was the Faith in her Heavenly Master flowing freely from her heart, lips and her mind.
We were truly Blessed to have had this opportunity to capture the words of Aunt Julia in this, perhaps her final interview.
We are saddened for the loss of this wonderfully unique individual.
Ms. Julia speaks her final words to the people of the Cayman Islands, to her family and friends and to the world.
May her soul rest in peace and may her spirit live on in each and every one of us.
May her drums beat on!
In memory of a wonderful, mother, grandmother, citizen and human being.
