Tagging sharks at Grand Cayman / Marcando tiburones en Gran Caimán

Two gorgeous Oceanic Whitetip Sharks (Carcharhinus longimanus) tagged by shark researcher Oliver Dubock of the Department of Environment on May 23rd, 2011, in the waters of the Grand Cayman island. The female one appearing the first five seconds of the video is Stella, and the rest of the video is the male Chris (assigned names for tracking purposes) Shark tagging in needed for species migratory studies that yield more sound protection for them. The sharks suffer minimal annoyance due the procedure, there is not pain or bleeding.

Dos hermosos ejemplares de Tiburón Oceánico de Puntas Blancas (Carcharhinus longimanus) marcados por el investigador de tiburones Oliver Dubock del Departamento de Ambiente (Islas Caimán) el 23 de mayo de 2011 en las aguas de la isla Gran Caimán. El primer tiburón hembra se llama Stella y aparece cinco segundos; durante el resto del video aparece el macho Chris (nombres asignados con propósitos de seguimiento). El marcado de tiburones es necesario para estudiar los patrones migratorios de las especies que resultan en una más cabal protección para ellos. Los tiburones sufren una mínima molestia durante el procedimiento, no hay dolor o sangrado.
