Cayman was once known as the "Entrepreneurial Giants of the Area" - Before steamships Caymanian men built their own mode of travel. We were a thriving Industry of ship builders, we were so successful that the World came knocking at our doors seeking our men for they were known as the most skillful seaman in the western hemisphere. Caymanian men continued to rule the seas working for the large shipping companies until the mid 80s and in some cases the early 90s.
