MORE TIME! Cayman Island Swordfish Challenge 2016

2016 Cayman Island Swordfish Challenge champs! Hands down the most epic trip, tournament, and group of people I've ever had the pleasure to fish with! From traveling with "The Legend" aka "Day Time Dave Lockhart whos helped develop an amazing swordfish fishery in the Cayman Islands and doesn't miss a bite, my captain Tom Guyton, and local fishing machine Jack, to hanging on the doc with IFGA Hall of Famer Bouncer Smith, Abie Raymond, Guy Harvey, and lead scientist Travis who's doing amazing research for Greys Tag & Release program, it doesn't get much better! We started day 1 catching 2 swords, 82lb & 79lb but fell short to a big 231lber caught on Grand. We needed a minimum 150lber next day and other boat to not catch. God was good and after battling heavy seas on our 40 mile run to the grounds, that's exactly what happened, we were greeted with sunshine and calm seas while a big 220lber slurped our bait making it into the boat after over a two-hour battle. Good for total weight of 302lbs and first place winning over 10k and defending out title two years in a row. There were 9 other fish caught so the fishery and competition is growing tremendously. Blessed to be part of such an amazing tournament. Did i mention the tunas? These memories will last forever! Putting a video together of some cool underwater footage too.
