A Tribute to Lisa who departed for the Barefoot Man concert but never arrived in Abaco
On June 20, 2013 Lisa and I, long time Barefoot Man and Sea 'N B fans, departed Key Largo, Florida in a Boston Whaler, with plans to take the 300 mile journey to see the BareFoot Man Concert on Guana Cay.
Our journey took us direct to South Bimini, and then on to Grand Bahama. The sea surface forecast was for three foot seas in the direction of our travel, however, forty miles sound of Grand Bahama the weather turned, and we experienced ten to twelve foot waves directly on our starboard beam. The hydraulic steering pump over heated and we found ourselves adrift with minimal control of the vessel.
Lisa never made it to Abaco. Eight months later, I finished the trip to Guana Cay, and created this movie in tribute to Lisa, who was the best mate an man could ever desire. Goodbye Lisa.
