National Museum 25th Anniversary Wompers

20th Century Caymanian "Wompers" donated by Trevor Watler.
These make-do practical shoes were called "wompers" of Wormpas" and served as everday footwear in the district of East End. They were made from Thatch twine and cattle hide and in later days old car tyres.
